This package
has been designed and produced by the members of Visual Impairment North East.
The members
of VINE are or have been involved in work connected with visual impairment,
i.e., Ophthalmologists, Optometrists, Teachers, Specialist Workers with the
Visually Impaired, Voluntary Workers etc. This simulation package is the first
project undertaken by VINE. The simulation package has been produced to;
Enable people
generally to understand the varying visual problems of those registered blind
and the partially sighted.
Enable
parents, relatives and friends of visually impaired people to better understand
the difficulties experienced due to reduced vision.
(i) Enable
better understanding by professional workers of the problem of low vision.
(ii) Enable a
variety of training programmes to be carried out giving professionals the
opportunity to acquire greater skills. Thus they can create their own training
programmes to teach people with low vision to utilise their remaining sight to
maximum effect.
VINE does
not accept responsibility for anything as a result of using simulation spectacles.
